Desktop Mate ' is an app that displays characters on your PC screen, allowing you to enjoy their voices and motions. On March 5, 2026, six DLCs were released that allow you to display 'Hello Kitty,' 'Pompompurin,' 'Cinnamoroll,' 'Pochacco,' 'My Melody,' and 'Kuromi.' All of them come with voices, making them irresistible DLCs for Sanrio fans, so I actually installed them on my PC and tried them out.

Desktop Mate itself is a free app available on Steam, while Sanrio characters are sold as paid DLC. The default character, 'Aieru-tan,' is displayed when Desktop Mate is first launched.



Right-click on Aieru-tan and click 'Change Character'.



A list of purchased DLCs will be displayed. Try clicking on Hello Kitty.



Hello Kitty appeared on the screen.



You can adjust the size in 100 steps from 1 to 100 using the right-click menu.



This is what it looks like in size 1.



Size 100 will be quite large.



Hello Kitty can be moved to any position by clicking and dragging. There are also animations where she sits on windows and the taskbar. Furthermore, she will emit voices when you click or move her.
