NVIDIA to invest $500 billion in the U.S. over the next four years in collaboration with TSMC and Foxconn to develop an all-American AI supercomputer

NVIDIA has announced that it will be the first to build an AI supercomputer in the United States. The plan is to build up to $500 billion worth of AI infrastructure over the next four years, which is in line with President Donald Trump's goal of 'strengthening the nation's manufacturing industry.'

Nvidia said it has opened more than 1 million square feet of manufacturing space to build and test its Blackwell chips in Arizona and its AI supercomputer in Texas.

NVIDIA Blackwell chips are in production at TSMC's chip factory in Phoenix, Arizona. For the AI supercomputer, NVIDIA is building a manufacturing plant in Houston, Texas with Foxconn and in Dallas, Texas with Wistron. Both factories are expected to be ready for mass production in the next 12 to 15 months.

NVIDIA also plans to build up to $500 billion worth of AI infrastructure in the United States over the next four years through partnerships with TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, Amkor and SPIL.

The supply chain for AI chips and AI supercomputers is complex and involves a wide range of processes, including manufacturing, packaging, assembly, testing, etc. NVIDIA will partner with companies for each process, with TSMC, Foxconn, and Wistron for manufacturing, and Amkor and SPIL for packaging and testing.

NVIDIA said, 'Our AI supercomputers are the engines of data centers built solely for the purpose of processing AI, and are the infrastructure that supports the new AI industry. Over the next few years, we expect to build dozens of 'gigawatt AI factories.' Manufacturing NVIDIA's AI chips and supercomputers for America's AI factories will create hundreds of thousands of jobs and trillions of dollars of economic stability for decades to come.'

Strengthening the country's manufacturing industry and creating jobs is exactly what President Trump is calling for, and NVIDIA's move can be seen as a reflection of the current administration's intentions.

'For the first time, an AI infrastructure engine is being built in America,' said NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. 'By harnessing the power of American manufacturing, we can strengthen our supply chain and increase resiliency to meet the extraordinary demand for AI chips and supercomputers.'
