According to the announcement, Apple will build a new manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas, and work with Foxconn to produce servers that will support Apple Intelligence.

Apple employs more than 2.9 million people in the US, including directly, through its work with suppliers and through developers across the iOS app economy, and the Houston manufacturing site is expected to create thousands more jobs.

In addition, the company will double the American Advanced Manufacturing Fund to $10 billion, establish an educational institution called the Apple Manufacturing Academy in Detroit, Michigan to nurture the next generation of manufacturers, and increase research and development investments to support cutting-edge fields like silicon engineering.

The move also includes Apple's chip production at TSMC's Fab 21 factory in Arizona, creating more than 2,000 jobs.

'We're excited about the future of American innovation and are proud to build on our longstanding investment in America with this $500 billion investment,' Apple CEO Tim Cook said. 'We're also excited to expand our support for American manufacturing by doubling our Advanced Manufacturing Fund and building an advanced manufacturing base in Texas. We look forward to working with people and businesses across America to write a great new chapter in the story of American innovation.'
