◆ Synopsis of Episode 3 of 'The Part-Time Life of a Hero and a Corporate Slave'
Kuzuul, who has lived as a 'hero' in a world overrun by monsters, is somehow overworked by a Japanese game company.

The cause of this was a battle with a formidable enemy, the Dullahan, whom he encountered in his original world. Kuzuru was a weak hero, but with the help of his excellent companions, he managed to make it this far. However, the Dullahan was powerful in swordsmanship, power, and magic. All of his companions were defeated, and after receiving a powerful blow, Kuzuru realized that he was doomed, but when he woke up, he found himself in modern-day Japan.

After a series of events, Kuzuru ended up working as both an office worker and a hero, but just after returning to his work as a hero, he once again faces his nemesis, the Dullahan. Unlike the cowardly and weak-willed Kuzuru he was back then, the courage and tenacity he developed as a corporate slave have transformed him into a powerful hero. Due to an urgent call from work, the battle for the day was cancelled, but the match between Kuzuru and the Dullahan will begin again on the weekend.

The result was a crushing defeat for Kuzuru. Not only was he outmatched by his physical strength and swordsmanship, but the magical aura that the Dullahan always had around him nullified Kuzuru's magic. Even though he was exhausted from working overtime, it seemed like there was no way he could win.

Although Kuzuru is exhausted after losing the battle, he is not only a hero but also a company employee. Work doesn't wait for anyone.

However, while at work, Kuzuru comes up with a secret plan. What is the plan that only a hero who works part-time as a corporate slave can come up with to defeat the formidable enemy, the Dullahan...?

◆GSC Members Only Bonus Episode 3 Name Making
Below is the first page of the initial draft for Chapter 3. There were three changes made to this page. First, as it says in the top right of the first frame, 'It might be good to include a scene where the two of them face each other at a door,' the original idea for Chapter 3 was to show 'Kuzuul vs. Dullahan' as the cover art on the first page, and the main story to begin on page 2, as shown in the image below.

The cover illustrations created at that time are shown below. The story of the Hero vs. Duran is easy to understand, and the idea on the right of the image in particular has an interesting composition of looking up, but in chapter 3, the introduction on the first page was easy to understand as a story and created an interesting ending, so adding a cover illustration would make the first page become the second page, so a cover illustration was not included. The first page of a manga is the page that is read the most, so it is desirable to weave in as much of the appeal of the work and episode as possible.

The revised name is below. By putting 'Kuzuul vs Dullahan' in the first panel, the introduction is clearly indicated. Also, the second change from the initial name is to have the two characters pose with their swords ready to attack, indicating the start of the final battle, making it easier to see the movement to the next page.

Finally, the introduction in the first panel is drawn small and from a bird's-eye view, making the introductory exchange easier to understand.

Another change from the original draft in Episode 3 was made to the following page. It's a scene where Kuzuru talks with his boss at work, but despite its importance to the episode, the scene lacked impact as a picture.

So I adjusted the way I drew the characters. By adding a panel with a strong drawing, the contrast of the page changed dramatically.
