After serving as Intel's CTO in the 2000s, Gelsinger worked to reform Intel as a 'technical CEO' from 2021 to 2024, but retired in 2024.

Gelsinger then announced that he had been appointed chairman of the board and chief technology officer of Gloo, a platform for religious organizations, in March 2025.

Gloo's flagship product is a suite of tools called ' Gloo Workspace ,' which includes messaging services and document management tools to support church activities. It is already used by more than 140,000 religious and nonprofit organizations. The company is also working on developing AI tailored to reflect users' theological beliefs.

Gelsinger is known as a devout Christian. According to the foreign media outlet The Guardian, Gelsinger said, 'My mission is to work on developing technology that will improve the quality of life for all people on Earth and hasten the Second Coming of Christ.' He continues to work enthusiastically as an executive at Gloo, and on October 29, 2025, he posted a photo of a meeting at Gloo's office, commenting, 'My biggest concern is how we, as Christians, can best utilize AI and use it for good.'

While Gloo isn't a prominent player in the technology space at the time of writing, a spokesperson for the company told The Guardian that it is 'starting to work with prominent AI companies,' and that Gelsinger 'wants Zuckerberg (Meta's CEO) to take notice.'
While at Intel, Gelsinger developed the foundry business expansion strategy ' IDM 2.0 .' In October 2025, it was reported that Intel had begun negotiations to manufacture AMD chips in its own factories, and the results of Gelsinger's work are beginning to show.
