A review of the 'Wacom MovinkPad 11', an Android-equipped, PC-free tablet designed for those who want to draw digitally for the first time. What are its features and drawing comfort that allow you to draw immediately at any time?

Wacom , which develops pen tablets and LCD tablets for creating illustrations, has released a new Android tablet, the Wacom MovinkPad 11 , which can be used without connecting to a PC. It features a 'Quick drawing' feature that lets you draw immediately from sleep mode, and a screen that's more specialized for drawing than a regular tablet. It's designed for people who want to create, so I actually tried it out to check out its appearance and drawing comfort.

MovinkPad 11 package.

The contents include a protective MovinkPad 11 package, a USB-C cable for charging, a Wacom Pro Pen 3, and instruction manual.

The MovinkPad 11 is 266mm wide, 182mm high, and has an 11.45-inch monitor. It is 6.99mm thick and weighs 588g, making it easy to carry around.

There are no buttons or ports on the bottom or left side.

There is a USB-C port on the right side.

On the top are the volume and power buttons.

There are cameras on the back. The front camera is 5MP and the rear camera is 4.7MP. There are also small feet on the four corners of the back, which act as a non-slip surface when laying the tablet flat to draw, make it easier to lift from a flat surface, and prevent the cameras from touching the table directly and scratching it.

One of the major features of MovinkPad 11 is the startup operation. You can see how to actually start and operate MovinkPad 11 by watching the following movie.

I tried out 'Quick drawing' which can be started on Wacom's Android tablet 'Wacom MovinkPad 11' specialized in 'drawing' and can suddenly take notes and sketches - YouTube

First, try starting up the MovinkPad 11 using the power button.

If you have set a password, enter it and the home screen will appear, just like a typical Android tablet.

Next, I will try to start up the sleeping MovinkPad 11 by pressing the Wacom Pro Pen 3 against it.

Then, 'Wacom Canvas' started instead of the home screen. This is a function called 'Quick drawing', and if you just want to use Wacom Canvas, you don't need to enter a password.

Wacom Canvas is a simple painting app that only comes with a black and blue pen, a black brush, and an eraser, and is specialized for sketching ideas and rough sketches.

Quick drawing launches Wacom Canvas, allowing you to draw notes or sketches. You can then output the image or transfer the data to Clip Studio Paint for further use. Tap the Share button and select 'Continue drawing in Clip Studio Paint.'

If you started using Quick drawing, you will be asked to enter your PIN at this point.

Clip Studio Paint will launch and the data created in Wacom Canvas will be imported. This is one of the features of MovinkPad 11: you can quickly sketch out any ideas that come to mind, and then once the shape starts to take shape, move to Clip Studio Paint to work on details like layer composition and color.

The MovinkPad 11 also boasts a distinctive monitor texture. When I tried drawing with the Wacom Pro Pen 3, I noticed a surface treatment specifically tailored for drawing, with less slippery feeling than when using a dedicated pen on an iPad or Android tablet. The monitor also utilizes the latest

electromagnetic induction (EMR) technology, which reduces pen latency and parallax for a more comfortable drawing experience.

Another major feature of the MovinkPad 11's monitor is its anti-glare display, which minimizes glare. Below, we've maximized the screen brightness on a Pixel 9 Pro XL, iPad mini, and MovinkPad 11 (from left to right), displaying the same image. While the Pixel 9 Pro XL and iPad mini appear bright, the images were taken indoors, resulting in fluorescent light reflections. On the other hand, the MovinkPad 11 shows no fluorescent light reflections at all, even in the same environment. Whether you're using the MovinkPad 11 indoors or on the go, where bright lights can be a concern, you can work without worrying about glare.

The Wacom Pro Pen 3 that comes with the MovinkPad 11 is a battery-free pen, so you don't have to worry about running out of charge when you're carrying it around.

In addition, to reduce the amount of items you need to carry around, a replacement nib holder with a nib remover is stored inside the pen.

One side of the refill holder has a hole as shown below, which can be used as a refill remover.

To remove the lead, insert the lead remover into the tip of the pen and push firmly to remove it.

The MovinkPad 11 is an Android tablet created with the concept of 'enabling even PC-less users to start creating digital illustrations.' When I actually tried it out, I realized it was a tablet specialized for drawing, with features like the ability to complete all your drawing tasks with just the tablet, the Quick drawing function that lets you start sketching immediately, and the appearance and feel of the display. In the following article, I'll test the MovinkPad 11's performance as an Android tablet by measuring its battery life and benchmarking it.

The MovinkPad 11 will be released on July 31, 2025, and the price at the Wacom Store is 69,080 yen including tax. It can also be purchased on Amazon, and the price is the same as the Wacom Store, 69,080 yen including tax. In addition, when you purchase the MovinkPad 11, a two-year license for CLIP STUDIO PAINT DEBUT is included, so even if you want to try digital drawing for the first time, you can register an account and use it immediately.
