Photo review of the 'Wacom Cintiq 16', 'Wacom Cintiq 24' and 'Wacom Cintiq 24 touch' which have evolved with a smaller size and significantly improved screen resolution

Among the LCD tablets developed by Wacom, the 'Wacom Cintiq' series has a lower resolution than the '

Wacom Cintiq Pro ', which is the highest grade professional-oriented series, but is more affordable. As the successor to the Wacom Cintiq 16/22 released in 2019, the ' Wacom Cintiq 16 ', ' Wacom Cintiq 24 ', and ' Wacom Cintiq 24 touch ', which have significantly improved body design, screen resolution, and drawing feel, will be released on June 26, 2025. This time, I was able to borrow all three machines prior to their release, so I first took a lot of photos to see how the body design has been improved.

Wacom Cintiq 16 package.

When I opened it, I found a Wacom Cintiq 16 protected by a cushion and cover, and a box containing cords and pens.

The main body of the Wacom Cintiq 16 looks like this. Compared to the Wacom Cintiq 16 (DTK1660) released in 2019, the Wacom Cintiq 16 (DTK168) has a monitor display size that has been expanded from 15.6 inches to 16.0 inches, but the main body size has been reduced from 422 mm wide x 285 mm high to 384 mm wide x 259 mm wide, making it a bit more compact.

Below is a comparison of the 2019 Wacom Cintiq 16 (DTK1660) and the 2025 Wacom Cintiq 16 (DTK168). The red line shows the outline of the 2025 Wacom Cintiq 16 (DTK168), which can be seen to have been significantly improved.

The back of the Wacom Cintiq 16 looks like this:

There is a removable leg at the top, which opens up to become a stand. Also, by attaching the separately sold '

Wacom Adjustable Stand ' to the center of the back, you can adjust the angle to make it easier to draw.

The recessed area on the back has USB Type-C ports on the left and right, and a Mini-HDMI port in the center. The Wacom Cintiq 16 can be connected to a PC with the included USB-C to C cable, and if you want to connect via HDMI, you will need to use a conversion adapter or a separately sold

HDMI to mini HDMI cable .

The connection ports on the back are designed to be able to be hung and organized to prevent multiple cords from becoming cluttered.

In addition, by placing the port in a recessed area on the back, even if the device is laid flat without being propped up on the stand, the cord will not rattle when stepped on, satisfying the demand for 'using it flat.'

On the right side are the power button, the OSD button that displays settings on the monitor, a slot for a pen stand, and a USB Type-C port.

The left side has the same slot for a pen stand as the right, as well as a security slot at the top.

There is nothing special at the top or bottom.

The box containing the cords includes a USB Type-C cable for power connection, a USB Type-C cable for connecting to a screen, an AC adapter, a quick start guide,

Wacom Pro Pen 3 , and a pen stand.

Below are the included Wacom Pro Pen 3 and pen stand. The 2025 Wacom Cintiq will not include custom parts for the Wacom Pro Pen 3, but

the Wacom Pro Pen 3E with a wooden grip and an eraser switch on the back of the pen will be released on June 26, 2025 to coincide with the release of the Wacom Cintiq.

When I opened the bottom cover of the pen holder, I found one standard refill and one felt refill inside.

The pen holder is inserted into the slots on the left and right sides.

You can place your pen in the pen holder attached to the slot. The pen holder can be rotated, so you don't have to worry about the pen tipping over even when you draw at a different angle to the device.

Packaging for Wacom Cintiq 24. The 21.5-inch Wacom Cintiq 22 (DTK2260) was released in 2019, so the 2025 model will be the first Wacom Cintiq 24 to be released.

Upon opening the package, I found a box containing the device and cables, all securely protected.

The Wacom Cintiq 24 (DTK246) has a 23.8-inch display size, a width of 568 mm, a height of 340 mm, and a weight of about 5 kg. The 2019 Wacom Cintiq 22 (DTK2260) has a 21.5-inch display size, a width of 570 mm, a height of 359 mm, and a weight of 5.6 kg. The Wacom Cintiq 24 (DTK246) has a significantly increased display size, but its size has evolved to be compact and lightweight.

The back of the Wacom Cintiq 24.

The connection ports are recessed into the back: USB Type-C ports on the left and right, and a Mini-HDMI port in the middle.

The Wacom Cintiq 24 comes with a Wacom Adjustable Stand. To move the Wacom Adjustable Stand, push the lever on the top.

By pressing the lever and moving the legs of the stand, you can adjust it to your preferred angle.

When you move the stand and stand it up, it looks like this.

The layout of buttons and ports is the same on the Wacom Cintiq 24 and Wacom Cintiq 16. On the right side are the power button, OSD button, slot for the pen stand, and USB Type-C port.

On the left side there is a security slot and a slot for a pen stand.

The contents include a USB Type-C cable, AC adapter, power cable, quick start guide and Wacom Pro Pen 3.

The following is the Wacom Cintiq 24 touch (DTH246K4C), which will be released at the same time. Other than the fact that the screen supports not only pen operation but also touch, the size, appearance, contents, etc. are exactly the same as the Wacom Cintiq 24 (DTK246K4C).

Below is a side-by-side comparison of the Wacom Cintiq 24 (DTK246K4C) and the Wacom Cintiq 24 touch (DTH246K4C).

There is no difference when looking at the back.

I actually connected the Wacom Cintiq 24 to my PC. Just connect it with the included USB-C cable and you're ready to go.
