Apple and MP Materials have signed a long-term agreement to supply rare earth magnets made in the United States from 100% recycled materials.

Under the agreement, MP Materials will supply Apple with American-made rare earth magnets produced at its flagship Independence facility in Fort Worth, Texas, and will also build a recycling facility in Mountain Pass, California, to produce raw materials, as well as develop new magnetic materials and innovative processing techniques to improve the performance of rare earth magnets.

According to Apple, this is part of its commitment to invest more than $500 billion in the United States over the next four years.
