Apple has announced that it will invest $600 billion (approximately 88.5 trillion yen) in the United States over the next four years, and as part of this investment plan, it has also announced plans to make all iPhone cover glass made in the United States.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly called on Apple to produce iPhones domestically, and in February 2025, Apple announced plans to invest $500 billion in the United States.

This announcement adds $100 billion to existing investment plans, bringing Apple's total investment in the US to $600 billion over the next four years, and will create 450,000 jobs.
As part of its investment plan, Apple also announced a strengthened partnership with tempered glass manufacturer Corning. Apple will invest $2.5 billion (approximately 369 billion yen) in Corning's Kentucky factory to strengthen its cover glass production lines for iPhones and Apple Watches. This will ensure that all cover glass for iPhones and Apple Watches is made in the USA.
Additionally, Apple will invest in 79 factories in the US to improve semiconductor and other manufacturing capabilities. Construction of a server factory in Houston is already underway, with test production beginning in July 2025, with the factory scheduled for official operation in 2026.
