I tried out the DJI Mavic 4 Pro triple-lens camera drone for aerial photography on Japan's longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Ibaraki City.

The DJI Mavic 4 Pro is a drone equipped with a triple-lens camera bearing the Hasselblad brand, and is positioned as DJI's flagship model. To find out what kind of footage it can capture, we went to

I visited Gravitate Osaka to test the performance of the DJI Mavic 4 Pro.

So, let's get ready to fly the DJI Mavic 4 Pro.

I've recorded a video showing how to deploy the DJI Mavic 4 Pro. It's just a matter of removing the cover and unfolding the propellers, so once you get the hang of it, it only takes about ten seconds.

Connect to the 'DJI RC Pro 2' controller with a large touchscreen panel and you're ready to fly.

The camera section looks like this. It's a triple-lens camera system with gimbal functionality, consisting of a 'Hasselblad camera (main camera),' a 'medium telephoto camera,' and a 'telephoto camera.' The Hasselblad camera has a 4/3-inch CMOS sensor with an effective pixel count of 100 million pixels. The medium telephoto camera has a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor with an effective pixel count of 48 million pixels. The telephoto camera has a 1/1.5-inch CMOS sensor with an effective pixel count of 50 million pixels. The Hasselblad camera can shoot video at up to 6K resolution and 60fps.

I took aerial footage of the area around the suspension bridge in 4K at 60fps. The result is so high-resolution that even when the video is paused, it functions as a still image.
The following video shows a DJI Mavic 4 Pro in flight, filmed from a distance. You can see that it is stable and does not shake.

The DJI Mavic 4 Pro is unusual for a drone in that it's equipped with a telephoto camera. To see the advantages of a telephoto camera, I'll try taking a picture of the main tower of a suspension bridge.

Below is 4K 60fps footage shot with a telephoto camera. From a safe position, the subject can be captured clearly and stably in video, and the moon is also beautifully visible on the right side of the screen.
I also recorded the process of folding up the DJI Mavic 4 Pro after filming was finished. Attaching the cover requires some practice.

The DJI Mavic 4 Pro has up to 512GB of built-in storage, allowing for high-speed transfer of video data via USB connection between the drone and a PC. It also supports wireless transfer via a smartphone app, and videos can be saved to a microSD card.

The video will be saved in MP4 format, and the subtitle data (.SRT) and low-resolution data for the app (.LRF) will also be saved in the same folder as the video.

The subtitle data contains the following information: ISO sensitivity, shutter speed, and other parameters are recorded for each frame.

When played back using software that supports subtitles, you can check the shooting information frame by frame, as shown below.

The official online store prices for the DJI Mavic 4 Pro are ¥277,200 (tax included) for the standard configuration, ¥355,850 for the 'DJI Mavic 4 Pro Fly More Combo' which includes an extra battery and charging hub, and ¥497,860 (tax included) for the 'DJI Mavic 4 Pro 512GB Creator Combo' which has 512GB of internal storage and also includes the DJI RC Pro 2.
