According to Anthropic, each agent template is a combination of 'skills,' 'connectors,' and 'sub-agents.' Skills are instruction manuals that summarize work procedures and specialized knowledge, connectors are functions that securely connect to internal systems and external data vendors, and sub-agents are Claudes that handle detailed tasks such as selecting comparison companies and verifying calculations.
There are a total of 10 agent templates for the financial sector. Companies can customize these templates to match their own regulations, risk policies, and approval flows.

Anthropic also enhances its integration with Microsoft 365. It supports creating financial models and checking formulas in Excel, updating documents to match source data in PowerPoint, and creating credit memos and internal documents in Word. Features for Outlook, such as inbox organization and reply drafting, are also planned.
Furthermore, the number of financial data providers is expanding. In addition to existing providers such as FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, MSCI, PitchBook, Morningstar, and LSEG, new providers include Dun & Bradstreet, Fiscal AI, Financial Modeling Prep, Guidepoint, IBISWorld, SS&C IntraLinks, Third Bridge, and Verisk. Rating agency Moody's will provide an MCP app that allows users to handle credit ratings and corporate data within Claude. In the insurance sector, integration with Verisk's property and casualty insurance, specialty insurance, underwriting, claims processing, and risk analysis data is particularly noteworthy.

Anthropic also explained that FIS, a leading provider of systems for financial institutions, is using Claude to build an agent that will reduce the time required for anti-money laundering (AML) measures from days to minutes. FIS plans to use Claude for other purposes in the future, such as credit assessment, fraud prevention, and deposit outflow prevention. Reports indicate that Anthropic is trying to increase its presence in the AI market for financial institutions.
However, Anthropic is not claiming to fully automate financial operations. Because errors in figures and decisions that cannot be explained can lead to major problems in financial institutions, human verification, correction, and approval will be required for documents submitted to customers, dealing with authorities, registering in internal systems, and decisions leading to transactions.
The new Claude agent template is already available on the financial services marketplace on GitHub. To use it, you will need to subscribe to a paid plan of Claude Cowork or Claude Code, or use the managed agents in the public beta version of the Claude Platform.
In addition to Claude for Excel, add-ins for PowerPoint and Word are now generally available, and Claude for Outlook is scheduled for release soon.
