Amazon develops its own Graviton series of CPUs and its Trainium series of AI processing chips. Anthropic has been partnering with Amazon since 2023, and more than one million Trainium2 chips are running in Project Rainier , one of the world's largest AI data centers, which was jointly established by Anthropic and Amazon, and are used for training and inference with the Claude series.

This expanded partnership means Anthropic will invest over $100 billion in Amazon over the next 10 years, purchasing up to 5GW worth of Amazon-made chips. Anthropic plans to significantly increase its Trainium 2 holdings in the second quarter of 2026, and will also deploy Trainium 3 on a large scale in the second half of 2026. The investment agreement also includes plans to purchase future chips such as the Graviton series and Trainium 4. Inference capabilities are also planned to be expanded in Asia and Europe.

Meanwhile, Amazon has also announced an investment of $5 billion (approximately 790 billion yen) in Anthropic, with the possibility of an additional investment of up to $20 billion (3.18 trillion yen) depending on the achievement of commercial goals.

Furthermore, it was announced that all of Claude's features will be available on Amazon Bedrock, AWS's AI service. Anthropic is promoting Claude as 'the only cutting-edge AI model that can be used on all three of the world's largest cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.'

Furthermore, Anthropic has signed a partnership agreement with Google and Broadcom on April 6, 2026, to implement Google's AI chip, 'TPU,' on a large scale.
