On December 9, 2025, AdWeek reported in a paid article that 'Google has informed advertisers of its plans to place ads on Gemini, according to an ad agency buyer familiar with the matter.'

However, Google's vice president of global advertising, Dan Taylor, responded shortly afterward, saying, 'This story is based on inaccurate allegations by anonymous sources that are not based on facts. The Gemini app does not display ads, and we have no current plans to change this.'




It has been reported that Google will begin placing ads in conversations with AI chatbots in May 2025. However, it has not been revealed what this 'AI chatbot' refers to.

Later, Google announced that it was considering displaying ads in 'AI-generated summaries' of search results.
