Machi★Asobi Vol.29 ' event, which aims to 'have fun in Tokushima,' kicked off on Saturday, October 18, 2025, with the opening ceremony held at Aibahama Park in Tokushima City.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Aniplex's Yuma Takahashi, voice actress and Tokushima Anime Ambassador Eriko Nakamura, and voice actress Yuri Ehara, who is also a member of the anime production company Ufotable. The day began with bad weather, with light rain showers from the morning, but Nakamura commented that the rain stopped just in time for the opening ceremony, so the weather was actually on schedule.



Yoshiyuki Hirai of America Zarigani and Koji Murakami, Vice Governor of Tokushima Prefecture, also appeared on stage as guests. At the pre-event party, Vice Governor Urakami said, 'I want to enjoy both the good and bad sides of Machi★Asobi,' but he had actually been working as a volunteer staff member at Machi★Asobi since 6am that day, and managed to squeeze time into his schedule to appear at the opening ceremony.



A little later, Hiroshi Matsuyama from CyberConnect2 also appeared. He said he had drunk too much at the '

Party for Involved Parties ' the night before.



On stage, an introduction was given to the postcards that could be given away as part of

this gourmet hunt .



CyberConnect2 is also selling merchandise featuring Matsuyama, including hangers. It seems like the merchandise featuring Matsuyama is selling better than the game merchandise, which is a mystery.



At the end of the event, at Takahashi's signal, the speakers called out 'machi' (town) and the audience responded with 'asobi' (play), resulting in a call-and-response.
