How to choose between the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL: We've thoroughly analyzed camera performance, battery life, and benchmark scores to see who's recommended.

The processing power of the Google smartphones ' Pixel 10 ,' ' Pixel 10 Pro ,' and ' Pixel 10 Pro XL ' is

relatively small , making it difficult to decide which model to buy. Therefore, we focused on the battery performance of the three models, comparing battery life and the time it takes to fully charge. At the end of the article, we'll summarize who each model is recommended for, based on the benchmark scores and camera performance comparison results .

◆1: Compare battery life
The battery capacities of the Pixel 10 series are 4970mAh for the Pixel 10, 4870mAh for the Pixel 10 Pro, and 5200mAh for the Pixel 10 Pro XL. The Pixel 10 Pro XL has the largest battery capacity according to specifications, but actual battery life will vary depending on factors such as screen size.

To test the actual battery life of the three models, we measured the time it took for the battery to reach 0% while playing

a YouTube video in full screen mode from a fully charged state. The measurements were taken at a room temperature of 26°C, connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi, with the screen brightness at maximum and the volume at 50%.

After 10 hours and 54 minutes of playback, the Pixel 10 Pro XL's battery reached 0% and it shut off.

After 11 hours and 55 minutes, the Pixel 10 Pro also ran out of battery.

The Pixel 10's battery also ran out in 13 hours and 14 minutes.

Here's a table summarizing the battery life of each model: Contrary to expectations, the Pixel 10, with the smallest battery capacity, lasted the longest, with a difference of 2 hours and 20 minutes between the Pixel 10 and the Pixel 10 Pro XL.

Model Battery life
Pixel 10 13 hours 14 minutes
Pixel 10 Pro 11 hours 55 minutes
Pixel 10 Pro XL 10 hours 54 minutes

◆2: Comparing wired charging speeds
The Pixel 10 series has slightly different wired charging specifications: the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro support 30W charging, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL supports 45W charging.

To verify the difference in charging speed, we prepared a Google charging adapter, the '

Google 45W USB-C Power Adapter ,' which is capable of outputting 45W.

Connect the Pixel 10 series to the charging adapter. Use the USB Type-C cable that came with the Pixel 10 Pro XL.

The graph below shows battery life measured every 10 minutes. The Pixel 10 (blue) and Pixel 10 Pro (red) charge at roughly the same speed, with the lines almost overlapping. The Pixel 10 Pro XL (yellow) charges faster than the other two models, reaching 61% after 30 minutes, 91% after 60 minutes, and finally reaching full capacity in 90 minutes.

◆3: Comparing wireless charging speeds
All Pixel 10 series devices support the Qi2 wireless charging standard. While the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro support a maximum output of 15W, the Pixel 10 Pro XL can support wireless charging at up to 25W.

We will test the wireless charging speed of each model using

the Google Pixelsnap Charger (with stand), which is capable of wireless charging at up to 25W.

I used the Google 45W USB-C Power Adapter as the charging adapter.

The remaining battery level was recorded every 10 minutes and graphed. After 30 minutes, the Pixel 10 (blue) was at 20% battery, the Pixel 10 Pro (red) was at 24% battery, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL was at 31% battery. The Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro took 150 minutes to fully charge, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL took 130 minutes.

We measured the temperature of the Pixel 10 Pro XL while it was wirelessly charging using the infrared thermography camera '

FLIR i3 .' The temperature on the screen side was 36.5 degrees.

On the other hand, the backside had risen to 40.5 degrees.

◆4: A complete summary of which models are suitable for which people
Based on the reviews we have done so far on GIGAZINE, we will summarize which models are recommended for which people.

First of all, in terms of processing performance, all three models are equipped with the same SoC, 'Tensor G5,' so there was almost no difference. You can check the details of the benchmark results for the Pixel 10 series in the article below.

All three models have a triple rear camera configuration: a wide-angle camera, an ultra-wide camera, and a telephoto camera, but the Pro model has a higher pixel count. While there's little difference when taking photos outdoors in the daytime, the Pro model takes better photos than the standard model when taking photos of food outdoors or in dark places.

Additionally, a feature exclusive to the Pro model is 'Super Resolution Zoom Pro,' which uses the power of AI to zoom up to 100x. While Super Resolution Zoom Pro's capabilities are hardly practical, it is an interesting feature for gadget enthusiasts, as it can simulate super-telephoto shots that are difficult to achieve even with dedicated cameras. Examples of Super Resolution Zoom Pro are summarized in the article below.

The Pixel 10 has a weak point: its battery capacity is low. However, this battery performance test revealed that the battery life is actually long. The processing performance is not much different from the Pro model, so the Pixel 10 is recommended for those who don't mind lower camera performance.

The processing performance of the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL is almost the same, so if you want a larger screen or a faster charging speed, you can choose the Pixel 10 Pro XL. If camera performance is important but you don't need a large screen, you should choose the Pixel 10 Pro.
