On August 27, 2025, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the event, saying, 'Get ready for an amazing #AppleEvent.' The official website listed the event's start time, but did not reveal any specific details, such as what will be announced. However, the video posted by Cook shows the Apple logo changing color, leading to speculation that the blue, yellow, and orange iPhones shown in the video will be featured.

As a sign of this expectation, the colors of the iPhone 17 series have been 'leaked' in the past.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, an Apple product expert, the Apple Event will feature two 'Pro' models in addition to the standard iPhone model, as well as an 'all-new Air model with a design that's much thinner than previous iPhones.'

Like the MacBook Air, the Air model (referred to by Gurman as the iPhone 17 Air) will use new components and new design standards that differ from existing models. It will be approximately 2mm thinner than the current model, with a 6.6-inch display that is larger than the iPhone 16 (6.1 inches) and slightly smaller than the iPhone 16 Plus (6.7 inches). It will also feature existing interfaces such as Dynamic Island and camera control. However, it is expected to feature a single 48MP camera, just like the iPhone 16e . The chip will be the standard A19 chip, rather than the higher-end A19 Pro chip found in the Pro version. It is also expected that even the global model will not have a physical SIM card slot (only eSIM).

The standard model (iPhone 17) will have a similar appearance to the iPhone 16, but will have a larger display and improved cameras, while the Pro models (iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max) will have a redesigned back, an expanded camera area, and enhanced photography capabilities, Gurman said.

Leaker Fixed Focus Digital reports that 'reverse wireless charging' has been tested on the iPhone 17 Pro. This feature could allow the iPhone 17 Pro to charge an Apple Watch, AirPods, or even another iPhone. There's also information that the Apple logo will be moved slightly lower on the iPhone 17 Pro, which is also thought to be a prelude to reverse wireless charging.

Other expected products include smartwatches such as the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Apple Watch SE 3, as well as earphones like the AirPods Pro 3.
