The price increase in the US will take effect on Thursday, August 21, 2025, and the new prices are as follows:
PlayStation 5 : $499.99 (approx. 73,700 yen) → $549.99 (approx. 81,000 yen)
PlayStation 5 Digital Edition : $449.99 (approx. 66,000 yen) → $499.99 (approx. 73,700 yen)
PlayStation 5 Pro : $699.99 (approx. 103,000 yen) → $749.99 (approx. 110,000 yen)
However, the price increase will only be for the console itself, with peripheral prices remaining unchanged. The company also stated that it has no plans to announce price changes in markets outside the US.

The background to this price increase is the introduction of reciprocal tariffs announced by the Trump administration in April 2025.
