The pre-event for 'Omocha Hako' kicks off, with the start of a comprehensive pop culture event in Hakodate under the slogan 'Challenge! Hakodate to Re-civilize and Enlighten!'



The opening ceremony for ' Omocha Hako, ' a comprehensive anime, game, and manga event, was held at the main venue,

Gotoken Main Branch , on Saturday, July 12th in Hakodate, one of Japan's leading tourist destinations. Over the two days of July 12th (Saturday) and 13th (Sunday), numerous talk events and live performances are scheduled at Gotoken Main Branch, as well as a ' Gourmet Art Rally ' in collaboration with restaurants in Hakodate.

The main venue, Gotoken Main Branch, is a long-established restaurant founded in 1879. The building is a registered tangible cultural property that was rebuilt after a major fire in 1934.



Talk events and live performances will be held in the Fuyou Room on the 2nd floor.



◆Opening Ceremony
At the opening ceremony, Saya Fukase, representative of the anime production company

UWAN Pictures, which is hosting the event, gave a speech. Ms. Fukase is from Hakodate, and said that she has plans to set up an anime studio in Hakodate in the future.



Mayor of

Hakodate , Jun Oizumi, also took the stage.



Mayor Oizumi says that in Hakodate, in addition to traditional tourism resources, the city will also utilize subcultural content such as anime and games to promote the city to different generations and around the world, and work to improve its sustainable city brand.

An impressive line-up of guests have gathered, including Chafurin (the man holding the microphone), who plays roles such as Inspector Megure in 'Detective Conan' and Isono Namihei in 'Sazae-san.'



Naoto Yoshida of Digital Entertainment Asset Pte. Ltd., the developer of '

Pictre - My Electric Pole Battle -, ' a team battle game in which players collect points by photographing and connecting power facilities such as utility poles and manholes, also took to the stage. Although 'Pictre' is not exhibited at 'Omochabako,' Yoshida's family home is next to that of Fukase, the organizer of this event, so there is a connection between the game and the developer.



Go Wakayama, the president of Gotoken, where the event was held, has a deep knowledge of pop culture, and Gotoken has collaborated with 'Fafner in the Azure' and 'Kantai Collection.'

Mofuru x Cross ' livened up the event with their performance.
