Intel, the world's largest semiconductor manufacturer, has struggled in recent years, with the company planning to cut more than 15% of its workforce by 2024 and cancel its factory expansion in Germany, leading to the resignation of CEO Pat Gelsinger.

The U.S. government has also been trying to break this situation, pressuring Taiwanese semiconductor giant TSMC to do business with Intel, and it has been reported that TSMC has been asking NVIDIA, AMD and Broadcom to invest in a joint venture to operate Intel's fabs in March 2025.
TSMC will hold 20% of the shares in the joint venture, but it is unclear what will happen to the remaining 80%.
Intel and TSMC declined to comment on the matter, and the White House did not respond to a request for comment.
Intel has appointed Lip Vu Tang, who resigned as a director due to dissatisfaction with the company culture and differences in strategic direction, as its successor as CEO.
