Jack Dorsey is back with Goose, a new, ultra simple open source AI agent building platform from his startup Block | VentureBeat

Jack Dorsey's Block has an AI agent too
Block describes Goose as 'an assistant that's ready to take your directions and do the work for you,' and explains that it can complete engineering tasks like finding bugs and making code changes autonomously.
Users can configure Goose to run on their preferred large-scale language models (LLMs), with Anthropic's 'Claude 3.5 Sonnet' and OpenAI's 'o1' working best.
It also supports extensions, allowing you to connect to GitHub, access Google Drive, integrate with JetBrains IDEs, and more.
Additionally, you can run Goose as a desktop app or via a command line interface.
According to Jackie Brassamer, vice president of data and AI platform engineering at Block, Goose's goal is to 'allow users to build agents that can transfer, summarize, and act on user data across multiple software vendors, so that they can take action on behalf of the user across multiple apps.'
'Open sourcing Goose creates a framework for new invention and growth,' said Danji Prasanna, Block's chief technology officer. 'When more people use AI to create, we can unlock new ideas and strengths, reduce labor, and give people back the time to be their most creative selves.'
