It has been revealed that Anthropic will pay SpaceX AI approximately 200 billion yen per month for computing services.



In May 2026, AI company Anthropic signed a contract to use SpaceX AI's supercomputer 'Colossus 1.' This agreement revealed the amount Anthropic must pay SpaceX AI.

According to documents filed by SpaceXAI with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Anthropic has an agreement to pay SpaceXAI $1.25 billion (approximately 200 billion yen) per month. This agreement is scheduled to run until May 2029.

As of the announcement of the contract details on May 6, 2026, Anthropic was contracted to utilize the full output of Colossus 1 in Tennessee, with a scale exceeding 300 megawatts (equivalent to more than 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs).

SpaceXAI states in this agreement that it will be able to 'monetize unused computing power within its infrastructure,' and will develop a hybrid business model in which it uses data centers for its own AI while leasing out the surplus to other companies. SpaceXAI wrote in the documents that 'we expect to enter into further similar service agreements in the future.'

Colossus 1 is a supercomputer developed by xAI, a company founded by Elon Musk. However, xAI was dissolved as a separate company after merging with SpaceX, a space development company also founded by Musk, and its work was taken over by SpaceXAI, a newly established AI division of SpaceX.
