Agora-1, a multi-agent world model that allows multiple people to interact within a simulated world, has been released.



A world model is an AI model that simulates real-world environments, including physics and spatial properties, and can predict the outcomes of various phenomena and actions. Odyssey , an AI development company working on the development of general-purpose world models, has announced ' Agora-1, ' a multi-agent world model in which multiple people can interact within the simulated world.

World models are powerful tools for generating high-fidelity simulations of any environment, but until now, they have limited active participants in the simulated world to just one. Odyssey's newly announced Agora-1 generates a virtual world similar to Nintendo's 1997 FPS game ' GoldenEye 007 ,' allowing up to four players to participate in a deathmatch within the same world.



Every element the players experience is generated in real time by Agora-1, and all four players interact with the same world simultaneously. Agora-1 simulates the player's actions and interactions with the world, maintaining the shared state of the world among the players and simultaneously distributing the generated pixels to all players. In effect, Agora-1 functions as a learning game engine hosting 'GoldenEye 007'.



Traditional world models include '

Multiverse ,' which links the states of multiple agents together and treats them as essentially a single world state, and ' (PDF file) Solaris ,' which links the viewpoints of each agent along a single sequence dimension. In contrast, Agora-1 explores a different approach by separating simulation and rendering.

Agora-1 captures the interaction between the player and the simulated world through a simulation model, reflects this state in the rendering model, and generates the screen the player sees. By separating simulation and rendering, Agora-1 can generate a consistent view of the same simulated world from multiple independent viewpoints.



Agora-1 is the first in a series of multi-agent world models that Odyssey will continue to release. This series will explore how world models can enable new shared experiences in various fields such as games, robotics, defense industry, education, and basic modeling.

Odyssey has also released a demo page where you can play a simulated version of 'GoldenEye 007' using Agora-1.
