Amazon Review Distiller analyzed the ' Amazon Reviews 2023 ' dataset, which contains 571,544,386 Amazon reviews, and scored reviews submitted up to 2023 based on rules such as insults and vulgar language. According to Amazon Review Distiller, 20,187,204 reviews, or 3.53% of the total, contained vulgar words.
Amazon Review Distiller displays the top 120 reviews in a 'Wall of Rants' section, based on factors such as the diversity and intensity of the complaints and the length of the sentences. For example, there are reviews that give a '5-star' rating but are just endless rants about everyday frustrations, and for the CD ' Hunger Games, ' which has an average rating of 4.5 stars overall, there are also reviews that give it a low rating using foul language, such as 'its mediocrity is so bad it makes you want to vomit in the toilet.' There is also a 1-star review for the ' ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQ 27 ' monitor that says 'it's so bad you'd be less annoyed and more entertained to just burn it with a lighter.' However, there are also reviews that are flagged for listing the vulgar expressions that actually appear in the movie, such as a review that points out that 'there are a lot of vulgar expressions in this movie.'

Clicking 'Wall of Fucked Up' changed the site's colors to black and red, and displayed 'outrageous reviews.' A list of even worse reviews, including discriminatory and abusive language, was displayed.

Furthermore, the Amazon Review Distiller UI is designed to allow you to select categories and enter search terms, just like the Amazon store. Click the pull-down menu and select 'Books'.

Reviews for the selected category are displayed.

According to Amazon Review Distiller, the highest percentage of reviews containing 'at least one offensive word' was in 'Video Games' at 6.54%, followed by 'Movies & TV' at 5.93%.

The categories with the highest average number of words in reviews are 'CDs and Records,' 'Books,' 'Kindle Store,' 'Digital Music,' and 'Video Games,' with arts and creative works dominating the top spots.

In addition, categories with a high percentage of 1-star reviews included 'subscription services,' 'beauty,' 'software,' and 'health and personal care.'

In addition, reviews are ranked based on various criteria, such as 'the review with the most consecutive use of exclamation points,' 'the review that expresses anger with the fewest words,' and 'the review with the highest proportion of insults and vulgar language.'
