A quick review of the VAIO SX14-R, VAIO's first Copilot+ PC, including its appearance and ports.
The VAIO SX14-R , a Copilot+ PC certified model equipped with an Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processor, was announced on April 23, 2026. We were able to borrow a prototype of the VAIO SX14-R from VAIO, so we took a detailed look at its appearance and ports.

The standard VAIO SX14-R model comes in five colors: Fine Black, Urban Bronze, Bright Silver, Deep Emerald, and Fine Red. Special editions, the 'VAIO SX14-R | Kachi-iro Special Edition' and the 'VAIO SX14-R | ALL BLACK EDITION,' are also available.
This is what the Deep Emerald looks like. It's a glossy, deep green color, with a gold-colored logo and bezel. This is a prototype, so some details may differ from the final product.
The corners are not right angles but have a three-dimensional structure.
I opened the screen.
The display is 14 inches in size, with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. You can choose between an anti-glare finish (reduced reflection) and a glossy finish (glossy). This time, I borrowed the anti-glare model.
The display features a 9.21-megapixel webcam at the top.
It also features a privacy shutter.
You can physically cover the webcam by sliding the privacy shutter.
The keyboard looks like this. The power button is located in the upper right corner of the keyboard.
The key pitch is approximately 18mm.
When you open the screen, the back of the keyboard rises up, lowering the height of the front, allowing for smooth typing without your wrists getting caught.
The screen can open up to 180 degrees.
Let's check the ports. On the left side, there is one USB 4.0 compatible USB Type-C port and one USB 3.0 compatible USB Type-A port.
On the right side, there is a headphone jack, a USB 3.0 compatible USB Type-A port, one HDMI port, one 1Gbps wired LAN port, and one USB 4 compatible USB Type-C port.
The dimensions are 312.0mm (width) x 13.9-18.9mm (height) x 226.4mm (depth). The actual weight was 1089g.
A major feature of the 2026 VAIO SX14-R model is that the privacy filter can now be fitted snugly onto the display. For reference, with

You can secure the filter by simply inserting the tabs on the edges into the gap between the display and the casing.
This is what it looks like with the privacy filter attached. The filter can be attached discreetly.
The screen is lit up. It is clearly visible from the front.
If you look at it from the side, the screen becomes completely black and invisible. It is effective in preventing information leaks. However, this new type of privacy filter is only available through corporate sales channels.
The VAIO SX14-R is scheduled to be released sequentially starting May 22, 2026, with a minimum configuration price of 269,500 yen at the official online store.
