When a user submits a task to the Perplexity Computer, it breaks it down into multiple subtasks and creates AI subagents to carry out each subtask. These AI subagents perform inference, search, coding, and API calls to connected services, and ultimately present the results to the user.

The Perplexity Computer can route work across up to 19 different models and connect to multiple services, including Google Workspace, GitHub, and Microsoft 365, to aggregate the results.

For example, one task is 'Create a GIF of NVIDIA's stock price over the past 10 years.' You can recreate the task for free by clicking the link below.

Everything from inference to execution is done automatically, allowing users to focus on other things and run other tasks in parallel on the Perplexity Computer.

The Perplexity Computer uses Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.6 as its core inference engine, and employs subagents with the best models for specific tasks: Gemini for deep research, Nano Banana for images, Veo 3.1 for video, Grok for lightweight tasks, and ChatGPT 5.2 for long context calls and broad search.

All tasks run in an 'isolated computing environment' with access to a real file system and a real browser, allowing for end-to-end handling of any project.

The Perplexity Computer is available through Perplexity's $200 (approximately 31,000 yen) monthly plan, ' Max .' Max users are provided with 10,000 credits each month, which they can use to run the Perplexity Computer.

Perplexity said, 'Everything Perplexity builds has always been model-independent, but choice and control are essential for better outcomes. A powerful AI system shouldn't be built on a single model, but rather be able to coordinate and integrate them all. It needs to access and intelligently deploy all frontier models that excel at different types of work. The Perplexity Computer can run on the best model for a specific task.'
