Your Google Account email address is the address you use to sign in to Google services and is used to identify your account. If you want, you can change your Google Account email address that ends in gmail.com to a new address that ends in gmail.com.

If you change your email address, the email address you were using before will be linked as a 'secondary email address,' or automatic forwarding alias. This means that no one else will be using your old email address. You can create up to three new email addresses per account, so you can use a total of four email addresses. If you want to completely delete your previous email address, you will need to delete your Google account.

The email will be sent to both your old and new email addresses, and you can see which email address it was sent to in the 'To' field.

You can log in to Google services with both your old and new email addresses. Your Google Account data will remain the same, so your data for Google services, YouTube usage history, and Google Play Store purchase history will be carried over.

You can always revert to your previous email address, but once you create a new email address, you won't be able to create a new email address ending in @gmail.com for 12 months.

Please note that 'the ability to change your Google Account email address is being gradually released to all users, so it may not be available yet,' so not all users can change their email address at the time of writing.
