YouTube Recap is a feature that digs deeper into users' interests based on their viewing history and uniquely highlights what they searched for. YouTube Recap classifies users into up to 12 personality types based on their favorite channels, interests, and viewing habits.

For users who listen to a lot of music on

YouTube Music , the app will also show their most-played artists and songs in 2025 as part of YouTube Recap. Additionally, users can check out options like the top genres and podcasts they listened to in the YouTube Music app.

YouTube Recap will be available to users in North America on December 2, 2025 local time, and will later be rolled out globally.

To view YouTube Recap, you must have sufficient viewing history between January and late October 2025. Additionally, in Japan, you must be 13 years of age or older, and delegated users of

brand accounts are not eligible.

Along with the launch of YouTube Recap, YouTube is also releasing information about popular songs and songs from popular topics, creators, podcasts, and shorts in the United States.

In the US, the most popular topic was ' Squid Games ,' the most popular creator was ' MrBeast ,' the most popular podcast was ' The Joe Rogan Experience ,' the most popular short song was ' YOUR WAY'S BETTER ' by Forrest Frank, and the most popular song was ' Die with a Smile ' by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga.
