The Galaxy Z TriFold's most distinctive feature is its tri-fold design. When unfolded, the display measures 10 inches diagonally, 2160 x 1584 pixels, and has a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. There's also a 6.5-inch diagonal display on the outside, measuring 2520 x 1080 pixels. The back panel is made of ceramic glass-fiber reinforced polymer, which is designed to be crack-resistant.

The Galaxy Z TriFold's three panels vary in thickness. The thickest, central panel is 4.2mm, while the two on either side are 3.9mm and 4.0mm, respectively. The two panels fold inward over the central panel. The hinges feature a dual-rail design protected by titanium.

Samsung has released the manufacturing process and testing of the Galaxy Z TriFold in the following movie, stating, 'The main display has passed a 200,000-fold durability test, which is equivalent to folding the device approximately 100 times every day for five years.'
Its 12.9mm thickness after folding is 4.7mm thicker than the 8.2mm-thick Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and 4.0mm thicker than the 8.9mm-thick (folded) Galaxy Z Fold 7. The Galaxy Z TriFold weighs 309g, about 1.5 times the weight of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The Galaxy Z TriFold's internals are essentially the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 512GB of storage, and 16GB of RAM. The rear camera configuration is also the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, with three options: ultra-wide, wide, and telephoto. The main wide-angle camera has a 200-megapixel aperture and an f/1.7 aperture.

The Galaxy Z TriFold is scheduled to be released in South Korea on Friday, December 12, 2025, followed by other Asian markets in the coming weeks and the US in the first quarter of 2026 (January-March). While pricing in Japan and the US is unknown at the time of writing, the Korean launch price is said to be 3,594,000 won, roughly ¥160,000 to ¥170,000 more than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with the same storage capacity.
