Anthropic releases two models of the 'Claude 4' family, with improved coding and inference capabilities from the previous generation - GIGAZINE

The Claude Opus 4 is a model that boasts 'the world's highest level of coding performance,' and the Claude Opus 4.1 is said to have even more refined coding capabilities.
For example, on SWE-bench Verified , a benchmark that measures the ability to address real-world software problems by resolving GitHub issues, Claude Opus 4.1 outperformed Claude Opus 4 by 2 percentage points.

Claude Opus 4.1 has been improved in most areas compared to Opus 4, with notable performance improvements especially in multi-file code refactoring.

Claude Opus 4.1 appears to have been given early access to companies such as Rakuten Group and Windsurf, and Anthropic reports that 'Rakuten Group praised Claude Opus 4.1 for its ability to pinpoint the exact fixes needed within a large codebase without introducing unnecessary adjustments or introducing bugs. The Rakuten Group team highly values Claude Opus 4.1 for their daily debugging tasks.'
Claude Opus 4.1 is available to paying Claude users and Claude Code. It is also available through Anthropic's API, Amazon Bedrock, and Google Cloud's Vertex AI. Pricing is the same as Claude Opus 4. Anthropic stated, 'We recommend upgrading from Claude Opus 4 to Claude Opus 4.1 for all use cases.'
