When performing calculations for large-scale language models or image generation AI, the model data is loaded into the VRAM of the graphics board. If the size of the model data is large, the VRAM consumption will also increase, and if there is not enough VRAM, the AI model will not be able to run, or problems such as 'trying to make up for the lack of VRAM with system memory or swap files, affecting the performance of the entire system' will occur. For this reason, users who want to run large AI models locally need to prepare a graphics board with a large VRAM capacity.
The Radeon AI PRO R9700 is an AI-specialized graphics board equipped with 32GB of VRAM. The VRAM standard is GDDR6, with a memory bandwidth of 640GB/s. The architecture is ' RDNA 4 ', and it is equipped with 64 compute units and 128 AI accelerators, with a computing performance of 191TFLOPS in FP16 and 1531TOPS in INT4.
Below is a comparison of the AI processing performance of the Radeon AI PRO R9700 (yellow) and the GeForce RTX 5080 (gray). When processing the large-scale language model 'Qwen 32B Q6', the Radeon AI PRO R9700 performs nearly five times better than the GeForce RTX 5080.

Workstations featuring the Radeon AI PRO R9700 are scheduled to be available on July 23, 2025, with the graphics card available separately in Q3 2025. Pricing for the Radeon AI PRO R9700 is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
