As part of the US Department of Justice's antitrust lawsuit against Google , OpenAI filed a court document titled 'ChatGPT: H1 2025 Strategy,' which was created by OpenAI in late 2024 and outlines its strategy for turning ChatGPT into a 'super assistant.'
In this document, OpenAI says, 'What exactly is a super assistant? It's an intelligent entity with T-shaped skills. A super assistant is a being that is personalized to the user and is available everywhere, including the web version of ChatGPT, native apps, phone, email, and third-party surfaces such as Siri. The reason it's T-shaped is because it has a wide range of skills for boring everyday tasks and deep expertise for tasks that most people find impossible (starting with coding). The broad part is focused on making life easier, such as answering questions, finding a home, contacting a lawyer, joining a gym, planning a vacation, buying gifts, managing a calendar, managing a to-do list, and sending emails. The deep part is about (redacted and not viewable), but as you reach less interested users, you should pay attention to (redacted and not viewable).'
9to5Mac outlined OpenAI's super assistant, saying, 'In a nutshell, ChatGPT envisions a future where it's not just something you open in your browser or an app, but something that's always with you, always listening to you, and always ready to help. This is exactly what Siri was aiming for.'

Google, Apple, and Microsoft should give users a choice regarding their default search engine and allow AI assistants, including ChatGPT, to access their search engine indexes.'
