I went to Saginomiya Station on the Enshu Railway, which is said to be the motif for the urban legend Kisaragi Station.

Based on information in the post, the urban legend 'Kisaragi Station' posted on the internet bulletin board 2chan is thought to be based on the Enshu Railway's 'Saginomiya Station.' As part of the '

Shin Hamamatsu Project ' which will be implemented in April 2025 in Hamamatsu City, free tickets for the Enshu Railway and Tenryu Hamanako Railway are on sale, so I took this opportunity to visit 'Saginomiya Station.'

Saginomiya Station is located here in Higashi Ward, Hamamatsu City.

We arrived at Saginomiya Station. It is located about halfway between Shin-Hamamatsu and Nishi-Kashima, 14 minutes away and 18 minutes away.

The station exterior looks like this. It is an above-ground station with the ticket gates on the south side of the platform and exits on the west and east sides via underground passages.

These are the stairs to the west exit.

As soon as you go up the stairs, the first thing you see is the Matsumoto Kiyoshi Saginomiya Station branch, a drug store.

In the underground passage, a panel exhibition of ' Shinkansen Transforming Robo Shinkalion Z ' was held.

This is due to the fact that Saginomiya Station appears in

episode 21, 'Shinkalion Z 500 TYPE EVA .' It's not just a glimpse into the background, but there is a part in the story where they search for Kisaragi Station.

At the top of the stairs to the east exit of the station, there is a slightly larger area that seems to be used as a parking lot for pick-up and drop-off.

I thought there must be some atmosphere that you can't experience if you visit during the day, so I decided to return at dusk.

The alley at the east exit of the station looks like this. There are many bicycles in the bicycle parking lot, and you can see that they are used for commuting to work or school.

I walked away to the south side of the station. There is a river on the east side of the station, so the residential area is a little smaller and it may feel like there are fewer lights when it gets dark.

This is what it looks like when you look at the station from the Futamata Kaido side, further west of the Matsumoto Kiyoshi store at the west exit of the station.

To the north of Matsumotokiyoshi is the 24-hour Seven-Eleven Hamamatsu Osemachi Branch. There is a shortcut from the parking lot to the bicycle parking lot on the west side of the station.

From the bicycle parking area you can get a good view of the trains arriving at the station.

I'd been here once before during the day, so I immediately knew it was the entrance to the station, but if you arrive at night for the first time, you might be a little confused by the entrance to the underground passage.

I could see the Seven-Eleven sign from the platform.

Looking north from the platform. The surrounding area is a residential area.

Looking back from the north end of the platform, it looks like this. If Matsumotokiyoshi is open, the west side of the station (right side of the photo) is quite bright.

However, since the post that inspired the urban legend was made in 2004, there were apparently no bicycle parking lots or convenience stores around the station, it may be difficult to talk about Kisaragi Station in its current context.

In addition, as part of the 'Shin Hamamatsu Project,' a photo spot featuring Gendo Ikari was set up on the platform.

By the way, the movie 'Kisaragi Station', which is based on the urban legend, will be released in 2022, and the characters actually take a train from Shin-Hamamatsu Station to reach 'Kisaragi Station'. However, after arriving at 'Kisaragi Station', filming was not done at 'Saginomiya Station' or Enshu Railway, but at Yagisawa Station on the Ueda Electric Railway, which runs in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture.
