I tried Yuraku Confectionery's 'Cookie & Cream Thunder', which is the perfect match between creamy white chocolate and bittersweet cocoa cookies

Yuraku Confectionery, which develops chocolate confectionery Black Thunder, has released ' Cookie & Cream Thunder ' on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. It is a combination of white chocolate using Hokkaido milk and cocoa cookies, and it is said to be a black thunder with the best balance of sweetness and bitterness, so I actually tried eating it to check what it tastes like.

The package for 'Cookie & Cream Thunder' looks like this.

The raw materials are sugar, whole milk powder, skimmed milk powder, cocoa butter, cocoa powder, cocoa mass, wheat flour, cocoa cookies,

feuilletine , shortening, almonds, etc.

Each piece contains 109kcal.

I put it on a plate and it was divided into two layers, the top part being white chocolate and the bottom part being regular chocolate.

When lined up next to the regular Black Thunder (right), it looks like this. In addition to the vastly different appearance, the regular Black Thunder seems to be slightly larger in size.

Looking at the cross section, the 'Cookies & Cream Thunder' (left) is white chocolate all the way to the middle, and the part that looks like it has two layers is just coated with regular chocolate on the outside. The white chocolate is mixed with cocoa cookies, plain biscuits, feuilletine, etc.

When I actually tried the 'Cookies & Cream Thunder', the sweetness of the white chocolate with a creamy milk flavor and a fragrant butter flavor and the bitterness of the cocoa cookies matched in just the right balance, creating a calm taste that was not too sweet. While regular Black Thunder has a slightly moist texture, the 'Cookies & Cream Thunder' had a crispy and light texture, probably due to the addition of feuilletine to the white chocolate.

'Cookie & Cream Thunder' will be available at convenience stores nationwide from Tuesday, February 25, 2025, and will be available at supermarkets and drugstores nationwide from Monday, March 17. The selling price is 54 yen (tax included) per piece.
