Netflix , Disney+, and other streaming services like Peacock and Tubi have already introduced similar vertical video feed features. Amazon Prime Video's newly announced Clips can be seen as following in their footsteps.

Clips displays personalized content tailored to your interests based on your viewing history. You can tap videos in the carousel on the home screen and scroll vertically, similar to TikTok. Favorite content can be easily added to your watchlist or shared with friends, and you can also view detailed information, rent, or purchase videos. However, to watch shared videos, the recipient must also have the Prime Video app installed.

Amazon states that 'this refresh, aimed at improving the mobile experience, adopts vertical images optimized for smartphone screens.' This increases the number of titles displayed on the screen by 50%, and also introduces a new player that allows users to check cast and trivia without interrupting playback, as well as an autoplay function for trailers.

Brian Griffin, Director of Global Application Experience at Prime Video, said, 'We want to make it easier for users to discover relevant content more seamlessly.'

As of the time of writing, Clips is available as an iOS and Android app to a limited number of users in the United States, with its availability gradually expanding throughout the summer of 2026.
