Haagen-Dazs will be releasing a new mini cup ice cream, ' Kaga Bocha Latte, ' featuring Kaga Bocha, a roasted green

tea that has been loved in Ishikawa Prefecture for over 100 years, for a limited time starting April 21, 2026. We received a sample in advance, so we had a chance to try it.

The packaging for the Häagen-Dazs Mini Cup 'Hojicha Latte' looks like this.

It's classified as ice cream, and the ingredients include cream made from Hokkaido-produced raw milk, sugar, egg yolks, and roasted green tea. Each serving contains 245 kcal.

When I scooped it with a spoon, I found it to be a simple ice cream with no toppings or sauce layers. The moment I put it in my mouth, I felt a slight bitterness from the roasted green tea, but as it melted in my mouth, a creamy richness blended with the fragrant flavor of the roasted green tea, creating an elegant sweetness. Kaga Bocha is said to have less bitterness and astringency because it uses the stems of the tea leaves instead of the leaves, and indeed, the fragrant aroma and creaminess of the roasted green tea lingered nicely in the aftertaste, resulting in a pleasant flavor.

Häagen-Dazs Mini Cup 'Hojicha Latte' will be available for a limited time starting April 21, 2026, with a suggested retail price of 373 yen (tax included).
