According to Microsoft, the app's functionality will be disabled on the end-of-support date. While the app can still be launched, users will no longer be able to access their mailboxes. The email accounts themselves will not be disabled, so users can access their mailboxes through other means.
Microsoft had previously announced that it would discontinue the app after October 6, 2025, and new app downloads have been unavailable since that date. Therefore, it is unlikely that many users will be affected, but users will need to migrate before the deadline. Microsoft recommends migrating to its official smartphone app, ' Outlook Mobile .'
Outlook Lite is an app released in 2022 that is a lightweight version of the regular Outlook app, designed for Android smartphones with limited storage capacity and areas with slow internet connections. It targets smartphones with 2G or 3G connections and less than 1GB of RAM, and its size was only 5MB. There was never an iOS version of Outlook Lite.

Microsoft stated that it is ending support for Outlook Lite as part of its efforts to reduce duplication and focus development and support on Outlook Mobile.
