z.ai describes GLM-5-Turbo as a 'high-speed version of GLM-5,' explaining that it is designed to be optimized for 'agent workflows' that include high-speed inference and long execution chains. z.ai also mentioned OpenClaw, which automates various tasks by having a personal AI assistant reside on the PC, and introduced it as 'ideal for agent-driven environments such as OpenClaw.'

Since its release, OpenClaw has been such a huge hit that it has shaken up the AI industry, and many similar products bearing the 'Claw' name have appeared on the market.

Following the massive success of OpenClaw, numerous 'Claws' that surpass AI agents are emerging; however, OpenAI co-founder expresses concerns about OpenClaw's security - GIGAZINE

Z.ai positions GLM-5-Turbo not as a static, responsive application, but as a model that closely resembles the behavior of agents in real-world operations. It prioritizes reliability in practical task flows, offering superior command responsiveness, powerful tool invocation, improved handling of scheduled and persistent tasks, and fast execution in long logical chains, targeting the agent market that provides more than just answer questions.

It is slightly less expensive than the previous version, GLM-5 , with a price of $0.04 (approximately 6.4 yen) cheaper per million input tokens.

According to 'ZClawBench,' a benchmark for agent tasks in the OpenClaw ecosystem developed by Z.ai, GLM-5-Turbo (blue) significantly outperforms GLM-5 (green) in scenarios using OpenClaw, and has been shown to outperform several major models in multiple categories.

GLM-5-Turbo is scheduled to be available to 'Pro' plan users in March 2026 and to 'Light' users in April 2026. While GLM-5 was an open-source model, GLM-5-Turbo is an experimental version and is closed-source at the time of announcement. Z.ai states that 'all features and research results will be reflected in the next open-source model release.'
