The Vera CPU is a CPU developed in-house by NVIDIA, and the Vera Rubin NVL72, which combines it with a Rubin GPU, is scheduled to begin operation in the latter half of 2026. Details about the Vera Rubin NVL72 are summarized in the following article.
NVIDIA announces details of its AI-focused GPU 'Rubin' and AI-focused CPU 'Vera,' with the AI rack 'Vera Rubin NVL72' boasting a processing performance of 2400 TFLOPS in FP64 precision and integrating Groq's high-speed inference chip - GIGAZINE

The following is a board equipped with the Vera CPU. The Vera CPU features 88 Olympus cores that are fully compatible with Arm v9.2, and operates as a CPU with a total of 176 threads thanks to NVIDIA Spatial Multithreading technology. It boasts twice the processing performance of the previous generation and is touted as delivering superior performance in agent AI execution and reinforcement learning.

Redpanda has published the results of its streaming latency measurements for 'NVIDIA Vera CPU,' 'AMD EPYC Turin,' 'AMD EPYC Genoa,' and 'Intel Xeon 6 (Granite Rapids).' The Vera CPU had the lowest latency and also demonstrated the advantage of 'significantly decreasing latency as the number of cores and machines increases.'

The following are the results of measuring the inter-core communication speed of 'NVIDIA Vera CPU,' 'AMD EPYC Turin,' and 'Intel Xeon 6 (Granite Rapids).' While the communication speed of EPYC and Xeon improved with increasing core count, it plateaued at 32 cores, but the Vera CPU continued to improve its communication speed even with 64 cores.

The following is a comparison of the processing speed of 'joining SQL tables' using 'NVIDIA Vera CPU,' 'AMD EPYC Turin,' and 'AMD EPYC Genoa.' Even in tests that simulate real-world environments, the Vera CPU was able to complete the process in the shortest time.

The Vera CPU is already in mass production and is expected to be available through multiple providers from the second half of 2026.
