◆Ask Maps
Ask Maps is a feature that answers complex and realistic questions from users. For example, if you ask questions like, 'My phone battery is almost dead. Where can I buy coffee and charge it without having to wait in a long line?' or 'Are there any public tennis courts with lights available tonight?', a customized map will be displayed, allowing you to visually see the available options.

When planning a trip, if you ask a question like, 'I want to go to the Grand Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, and Coral Dunes, but are there any recommended places to stop along the way?', you can get information from people who have actually visited, including directions, estimated arrival times, how to find hidden hiking trails, and how to get free admission tickets.

Search results are optimized based on the user's search history and saved locations, providing the most relevant recommendations tailored to their preferences. For example, if a user whose past history indicates they like vegan restaurants asks, 'Are there any restaurants with a cozy atmosphere and four-seater tables?', Ask Maps will find restaurants with vegan menus.
Ask Maps is available for Android and iOS in the US and India, and a desktop version is scheduled to be released soon.
◆Immersive Navigation
Google Maps has received its first major update in over 10 years, revamping its driving experience with a visually enhanced and more intuitive navigation system. The 3D view clearly displays surrounding buildings, overpasses, and terrain, making the map easier to read. Important information such as lanes, crosswalks, traffic lights, and stop signs are also highlighted as needed. These features are powered by Gemini's image analysis.

Furthermore, new features have been added, including voice guidance that allows for natural conversation, real-time traffic congestion information notifications, and functions that inform users of the entrance and parking lot of their destination building.

Immersive navigation will be rolled out first in the United States and will become available on Android, CarPlay, and other platforms over the next few months.
