It turns out that the huge bulletin board '5ch' has been stripped of its domain, and it will continue to operate by changing from 5ch.net to 5ch.io

It has been revealed that the domain of the bulletin board site '5 Channel (5ch)' has been revoked by its administrator. The operation of 5 Channel itself has changed its domain from '5ch.net' to '5ch.io' and is continuing.

Starting around the morning of March 6, 2026, 5chan became inaccessible using a dedicated browser. Jim Watkins, the administrator of 5chan, explained that the domain was revoked by the registrar Epik. As a result of Epik's actions, Watkins has discontinued the services of the message board sites '8chan' and '8kun,' which he manages. He has also expressed a desire to have the domains '5chan (5ch.net)' and 'PINK Channel (bbspink.com)' restored.

5 Channel has indicated that it will continue to operate by changing its domain to '5ch.io,' and is urging people to change their bookmark registrations on an announcement page.

[Urgent] Due to various circumstances, we have decided to change the domain name of this bulletin board from 5ch.net to 5ch.io.
Please change your browser bookmarks or the URL of your dedicated browser.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this sudden notice, and we appreciate your continued support.

You can access 5ch.io from your browser and view posts as usual.

The 5channel management team is also calling on developers of dedicated browsers to update their thread retrieval systems to '5ch.io.'
