'Pokémon Wind and Wave' announced, featuring new starter Pokémon and set for simultaneous worldwide release in 2027

On February 27, the anniversary of Pokémon's launch, a special program called ' Pokémon Presents ' was broadcast to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon. During the program, Pokémon Wind and Wave were announced along with the latest information on Pokémon-related content.

'Pokémon Presents' aired on the official Pokémon YouTube channel from 11 PM. Also, starting at 10:30 PM, a video featuring 1,025 Pokémon counting down the minutes until the broadcast aired.

The countdown video looked like this, with images of various Pokemon with the number '30' reminiscent of the 30th anniversary flowing all over the place.



A Pikachu mascot also joined in halfway through.



The main video starts with the opening footage of 'Pokémon Red and Green.'



Afterwards, Mr. Ishihara from The Pokémon Company appeared.



The 'GAME MUSIC COLLECTION' is a compact music player that looks just like a Game Boy. It lets you play all 65 of the original Pokémon's background music tracks by swapping cartridges. It's scheduled to be released sequentially from February 28, 2026.



The Pokémon World Championships 2026 will be held in San Francisco, USA, and a new event called Pokémon XP will be held alongside it. Pokémon XP will feature a variety of experiences that everyone can enjoy, including interactive exhibits, pin trading, a cosplay showcase, unique panel discussions, and a Pokémon Center. The event will be held over three days, August 28-30, 2026, and will also be streamed live online.



The Pokémon Card Game will be releasing 30th anniversary products worldwide at the same time.



'Pokemon GO' will be holding an event from March 7th to 9th where almost every Pokemon that has appeared in the game so far will appear.



In 'Pokémon Masters EX,' the main character Red appears in his original form.



Starting February 28th, the first three Pokemon from each region will be available at 'Welcome! Pokemon Cafe ~Mix and Mix Puzzle~.'



The Mew mission begins in 'Pokémon Sleep.'
