A taste review of 'Aerial Gyoza Flavor' with a crispy texture and a strong garlic aroma and meaty flavor

Yamazaki Biscuits (YBC) has released a new snack called ' Gyoza Flavor ' under the direction of actress Alice Hirose on Monday, February 9, 2026. The flavor, which recreates the addictive taste of freshly baked gyoza dumplings with the juicy umami of meat and the fragrant aroma of garlic, was revealed in Aerial. I was curious to try it out, so I gave it a try.

The Aerial Gyoza flavor package looks like this.

The gyoza flavor is advertised as being 'supervised by Alice Hirose.' This marks the third time that Alice Hirose has supervised an Aerial.

The ingredients are corn grits, vegetable oil, starch, sugar, shortening, lactose, salt, soy sauce powder, onion powder, pork extract powder, barley flour, pork seasoning powder, powdered oil, protein hydrolysate, miso powder, garlic powder, green onion powder, dextrin, yeast extract powder, glucose, fermented seasoning, seasoning oil, black pepper, ginger powder, red pepper, etc. The content is 65g.

The calorie content was 365kcal per bag.

I opened the bag and found that Aerial is a four-layered snack with a large layer of air that gives it a light texture.

It's a little hard to tell from the photo, but the dough has green grains mixed in, reminiscent of the green onions in gyoza filling. When I tried it, the initial flavor of the Aerial was the same as usual, with a strong corn flavor, but as I continued to eat it, the aroma of garlic, the savory aroma of burnt skin, and the sweetness and umami of the oil spread softly, and it certainly tasted similar to crispy fried gyoza. It also had a strong salty flavor, so I got the impression that it would go well with alcohol, just like gyoza.

The Aerial Gyoza flavor will be available for pre-sale at convenience stores from February 9, 2026 (Monday), and will be available at mass retailers nationwide from February 16, 2026 (Monday). The price at convenience stores was 176 yen including tax (8%). It was also available on Amazon.co.jp, where it could be ordered for 162 yen including tax at the time of writing.
