The word 'VIOLATION' appears on top of a man doing pull-ups.

The man seems to want to get a six-pack as soon as possible, and is asking for advice from a man who looks like an instructor next to him.

The instructor responded, 'Perfect! That's a clear and achievable goal. Would you like us to create a personalized exercise goal for you?' The man agreed, so the instructor continued, 'Let's customize it for you. Please tell us your age, height, and weight.'

The instructor then responded, 'I'll create a plan for you that focuses on strength training,' but added, 'Confidence isn't something you can build just in the gym. Try Step Boost Maxx height-enhancing insoles.'

The answers given are unrelated to six-packs, and the man can't hide his confusion.

'Use the coupon code 'HEIGHTMAXXING10' for a huge discount,' the instructor said. 'Advertising comes to AI, but Claude is different,' the Anthropic commercial continued.

Anthropic stated, 'There are many places where advertising is appropriate, but conversations with Claude are not one of them.' While acknowledging that AI is also used in the advertising industry, they stated, 'Including ads in conversations with Claude is incompatible with what we want Claude to be: an assistant that is truly helpful when working and thinking deeply.' They also stated that they will not introduce ads to Claude.
This commercial can also be seen as a warning to OpenAI, which is moving forward with the introduction of advertising.

In fact, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman responded strongly.
First, the good part of the Anthropic ads: they are funny, and I laughed.
— Sam Altman (@sama) February 4, 2026
But I wonder why Anthropic would go for something so clearly dishonest. Our most important principle for ads says that we won't do exactly this; we would obviously never run ads in the way Anthropic…
Altman commented, 'It was a funny, funny commercial,' but added that it's clear that the dishonest ads Anthropic portrayed in its commercials are not acceptable to users, and that OpenAI would never display them. He criticized the ad, saying, 'They're using false advertising to criticize false advertising that doesn't exist.'
OpenAI also believes that 'everyone deserves access to AI,' and that while Anthropic 'offers expensive services to the wealthy,' OpenAI must provide services to the billions of people who cannot afford them.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the recently released 'Codex app' has already surpassed 500,000 downloads, and said, 'We will strive to provide users with more intelligence at a lower price.'
OpenAI releases app version of Codex, allowing multiple agents to run simultaneously, and OpenAI developers claim that '99.9% of their code is written with the Codex app' - GIGAZINE
