Intel announces 'Core Ultra Series 3,' adding 'Core Ultra X9' and 'Core Ultra X7' to the lineup

Intel announced its AI PC processor, the Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake), on January 6, 2026 (Japan time). The Core Ultra Series 3 is manufactured using the Intel 18A process, and the company also announced the addition of the Core Ultra X9 and Core Ultra X7 to its lineup.

The Core Ultra Series 3 is a processor that integrates the CPU, GPU, and NPU, and is designed for AI PCs. It is manufactured using the Intel 18A process, which improves chip density and power efficiency.

Intel emphasizes the high AI processing performance of the Core Ultra Series 3. The NPU has a maximum processing power of 50 TOPS, the GPU has a maximum processing power of 120 TOPS, and the entire processor has a maximum processing power of 180 TOPS. In addition, the maximum memory capacity is 96GB, allowing AI models with up to 70B of parameters to be run locally.

Additionally, the lineup now includes the new Core Ultra X9 and Core Ultra X7 models. Both models integrate Intel's high-performance Arc B390 and Arc Pro B390 GPUs, delivering superior performance for gaming and creative tasks. The top-of-the-line Core Ultra X9 388H model features 16 CPU cores and 12 Xe cores, with a maximum P-core turbo frequency of 5.1GHz.

Pre-orders for the Core Ultra Series 3 laptops began on January 6, 2026, and they are scheduled to be released on January 27, 2026.
