On my way back from Kyoto on the Shinkansen, I was attracted by the 'back' of the cover of a book that was stacked up in a bookstore at Shinagawa Station, and I couldn't help but pick it up, and that was how I first encountered 'Look Back.'
I read it all in one go that night.
Manga and film are different genres, but as a fellow creator, I feel that this work conveys a strong sense of determination, and I can painfully feel that Tatsuki Fujimoto would not have been able to move forward without drawing this work.
For me, 'Nobody Knows' was that kind of work.
After that meeting, Producer Koide invited me to turn 'Look Back' into a live-action film, and I had the opportunity to meet Fujimoto.
First of all, I wanted to express my gratitude for bringing such a work into the world and for the opportunity to encounter it in my time, but on the way home I remember making up my mind that I had no choice but to do it.
Filming has finished and the film is currently being edited, but I believe it will be a very rich piece of work.

The first film I saw by director Koreeda was Our Little Sister.
The interior of the main character's new home and the furniture in the town's restaurant all had a very lived-in feel, making the story more convincing. I was also impressed by the small details of the acting that were not related to the story, which made me feel like the characters were living their daily lives in places we couldn't see.
If Director Koreeda is going to film Look Back, I have nothing more to say. I'm looking forward to it!
