Photo review of Amazon's fully redesigned smart speakers 'Echo Dot Max' and 'Echo Studio'
Amazon has announced a revamped lineup of its smart speaker series, the Amazon Echo, releasing the Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio on October 29, 2025. I was able to actually borrow these two models, so I first checked out their appearance.

The packaging looks like this: Echo Dot Max on the left, Echo Studio on the right.
First, let's open the Echo Dot Max.
Peel off the tape.
The front part has opened, revealing the Echo Dot Max itself.
The contents include the Echo Dot Max itself, an instruction manual, and a power cable. The Echo Dot Max comes in three colors: amethyst, graphite, and glacier white. The one I borrowed this time was amethyst.
On the front is a button panel for volume control and microphone on/off.
There is a terminal on the back for connecting the power cable.
Right side. The surface is covered with a woven cloth-like '3D knit fabric,' giving it a simple appearance.
The left side looks like this. The size is 109mm long x 109mm deep x 99mm high.
The bottom is made of rubber and has a non-slip surface, and is marked with the Amazon logo, serial number, and technical conformity mark.
The actual weight was 501g.
The power cable looks like this.
The adapter was marked '22.0W'.
Next, we will unpack the Echo Studio.
This is what it looks like when you open the cosmetic box.
The contents include the Echo Studio unit, instruction manual, and power cable.
The Echo Studio looks almost identical to the Echo Dot Max, measuring 155mm long x 142mm deep x 148mm high.
There is a power cable connection terminal on the back.
The right side of the Echo Studio looks like this.

I put the Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio side by side, and it's clear that the Echo Studio is about 1.5 times the size of the Echo Dot Max.
The bottom has an anti-slip surface, and the Amazon logo, serial number, and technical conformity mark are printed on it.
The actual weight is about 1.6 kg, which feels quite heavy when you hold it in your hand.
The power cable had an output of 50.0W.
Next time I'll set it up and actually listen to some music.
