Taking advantage of the know-how cultivated as a chicken specialty store, the Tatsuta Burger was developed over eight years, so we decided to check out what it tastes like.

A chicken specialty store's pride and joy! Delivering unparalleled quality, the 'KFC Chicken Tatsuta Burger' will be on sale in limited quantities from Wednesday, November 26th! | KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN JAPAN, LTD.
Arrived at KFC.

There was a poster advertising 'Kenta's Chicken Tatsuta Burger' inside the store.

I bought and brought home the 'Kenta Chicken Tatsuta Burger' and the 'Kenta Chicken Tatsuta Burger Spicy Ginger' which uses spicy ginger sauce.

If you're just going to eat it, it's best to leave it in the packaging, but I took out two burgers to get a full picture.

Both burgers are sandwiched between buns filled with Tatsuta-age and shredded cabbage. When you compare them, they seem to use completely different flavors of Tatsuta-age, but there is no difference in the flavor of the batter itself, so it seems to be just individual differences.

The difference is that 'Kenta's Chicken Tatsuta Burger Spicy Ginger' has a red 'special spicy ginger sauce' painted under the fried chicken.

First, I tried the 'KFC Chicken Tatsuta Burger.' The juicy meat had a crunchy texture that was different from the crispy texture of the original chicken, and the flavor of soy sauce and ginger was fragrant, and the broth was overflowing with juice. It really stood out with its strong meaty flavor.

This is what the cross section looks like. The Tatsuta-age takes up about 40% of the whole dish, making it quite a big presence.

Next up is the 'KFC Chicken Tatsuta Burger with Spicy Ginger.' At first bite, it doesn't seem much different from the 'KFC Chicken Tatsuta Burger,' but the moment your tongue touches the red sauce, the flavor changes completely. The spiciness that slowly seeps out of the sauce and the sweetness reminiscent of teriyaki stimulate your mouth. Because the meat mixes well with the sauce, the flavor of the meat is slightly more subdued than before.

The 'KFC Chicken Tatsuta Burger' is priced at 540 yen (tax included), and the 'KFC Chicken Tatsuta Burger Spicy Ginger' is priced at 570 yen (tax included) and is available at KFC stores nationwide. Stock is limited and sales will end when stock runs out.
