Firefox 145 official release, adding comments to PDF documents

The official version of the web browser Firefox 145 has been released. The PDF viewer has been improved, and now you can add comments anywhere in a PDF document.

◆Adding comments to PDFs
The PDF viewer now has a new feature for adding comments within PDF documents. This allows users to add comments anywhere within a PDF document. To add a comment, open the PDF document, select the area where you want to add a comment, right-click, and select 'Add Comment to Selection' from the context menu that appears.

A pop-up will appear, allowing you to enter text freely. After entering your comment, press the 'Add' button to add the comment to the selected location.

All comments added to a document are displayed in the sidebar that appears when you click the 'Edit Comments' icon on the toolbar, and clicking a comment will take you to the added section. When reading a long PDF or a PDF with a lot of markup, adding comments at various points can be useful as they act as bookmarks.

◆ Preview display of tabs within a group
When using the Tab Groups feature, you can now hover your mouse over a tab in a group to see a preview of that tab. This allows you to quickly see the contents of the tab and easily access the tab you want.

◆ Copy link to selected part
The Copy Link to Selection option in the right-click context menu allows users to transfer a link to the selection in the document to the clipboard.

Text fragments allow you to open a document to a selected position, so when you share this text with others, they can share any position on the page.

Added support for the Matroska container format with the following codecs:

◆ Windows: Desktop Launcher
The Windows version now includes a desktop launcher , which replaces the traditional desktop shortcut and launches Firefox if it is installed, or prompts you to install it if it is not.

◆Linux: 32-bit version is no longer supported
As of this update, 32-bit Firefox for Linux is no longer supported. If you are using the 32-bit version on Linux, you will need to move to the 64-bit version.
◆Other changes
- The shape of the horizontal tab has been changed to a slightly rounded shape.
- When the extension is not installed, clicking the 'Extensions' button on the toolbar displays a description of the extension and a link to the add-on store.
