According to Meta, the 'Like' and 'Comment' buttons for the web will be removed.

The 'Like' button is a plugin that can be embedded on websites, blogs, etc., allowing users to 'like' posts in the same way as Facebook.

On the other hand, the 'Comment' button is a plugin that allows external sites to use the comment system used by Facebook. When you press the button, you will be logged in to Facebook and can post a comment using the username and icon you use on Facebook.

Meta has announced that these plugins will be discontinued on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

According to Meta, the plugins being discontinued reflect the early stages of web development and are becoming less popular as the digital landscape evolves.

Please note that the deprecated plugins will now be rendered as invisible 0x0 pixel elements, so they will not cause errors on your site or affect the functionality of your existing site.
