With the backing of the Sony Group, a new animation studio called ' FLINT BASE ' has been established as a 'place to serve as a gateway for students aspiring to become animators,' and is now accepting applications for new graduates for 2026.

Within the Sony Group, Aniplex has two animation production companies, CloverWorks and A-1 Pictures, which have been actively recruiting new graduates and training their staff animators. However, there is a limit to the number of people they can train, which has led to a narrowing of the pool of animators available.

FLINT BASE generally employs employees on a one-year contract, with a maximum of two years on a fixed-term basis. Upon joining the company, employees will learn the basics of animation through training, then acquire animation skills under the guidance of instructors. The goal is for employees to gain experience through daily work, primarily animation, while also developing into an animator who also handles key animation. This time, the company is hiring new graduates, so the position is open to those expected to graduate in March 2026.
